SUNDANCE INDIGENOUS FILM TOUR ASSETS
The 2025 Sundance Institute Indigenous Film Tour is a 98-minute theatrical program featuring seven short films from Indigenous filmmakers whose work was featured at the festival.
Started in 2021 as a virtual presentation, Native cultural centers, and arthouse cinemas, the latest edition of the tour is a vivid snapshot of inventive storytelling from Indigenous filmmakers across the United States. The program features animation, documentaries, coming-of-age dramas and endearing comedies, resulting in an eclectic program that brings contemporary Native American filmmaking into sharp focus. The screening is co-presented by Ma’s House, a communal art space on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation, with introductions by Sundance Film Festival director Eugene Hernandez and Ma’s House founder Jeremy Dennis.
The curated selection reflects a variety of Native stories and showcases inventive, original storytelling from indigenous artists previously supported by the Festival. Sundance Institute has a long history of supporting and launching talented Indigenous directors including Erica Tremblay, Taika Waititi, Blackhorse Lowe, Sterlin Harjo, Sky Hopinka, Caroline Monnet, Fox Maxy, and Shaandiin Tome. Support for screenings is provided by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.Short FilmsPT1H38MNR2026-03-04SUNDANCE INDIGENOUS FILM TOUR ASSETS"SUNDANCE INDIGENOUS FILM TOUR ASSETS"Showtimes
