Our first-ever East End Cinema Masterclass salutes an artist with local roots making waves on the national stage. Ever since the launch of How to With John Wilson in 2020, the Long Island native behind the hit HBO show has become synonymous with New York identity: His charming voiceover guides audiences through some of the most eccentric and memorable characters ever put on screen. For his next act, Wilson has translated his sensibilities into the acclaimed feature-length essay film The History of Concrete, which finds unexpected depth to the backstory behind New York sidewalks, among many other surprising avenues. Wilson joins us at the Playhouse to look back on his Long Island roots and his promising filmmaking future, including an upcoming project with Harry Styles.<div> </div>DocumentaryPT1H41M2026-11-19USen
